My name is Sebastian and I'm very new to custom firmware for wifi routers, and I need some help before I brick my router. I've got a Huawei HG532 modem / router that I would like to install openwrt into in order to convert it to a repeater, so I can give wifi to a part of my house that does not reach the main modem (another HG532) Somewhere else on this forum I saw that some people could install a version of the firmware in the hg but I don't quite understand if its possible. In the wiki for the HG532 mentions that is possible to install it, but again, I'm not sure on how to do it, and if it would work.
I have a working build-root and sucessfully build latest trunk firmware for my boxes wzr hpg300nh,tplink 3420 and 701nd..i have huawei hg532b lying in my cabinet and wonder if openwrt support this device..then i found this link =37964..he forgot to upload or share his firmware,,and i want to build trunk firmware for this device..he post this patch but how can i add this patch to my build-root

Im trying to load my compiled firmware and connected via serial,,i cant get to pass uboot tftp mode..even if i press 2 several times.it just boot its original firmware.any settings on putty?my serial setting 57600,8N1 .any idea??
And even if the router has auto-update, check every now and then to make sure it is actually working, and the router firmware is up-to-date. If your router manufacturer hasn't released any updates to the firmware in the past 3-5 years, consider upgrading to a "newer" router 2ff7e9595c
